MPL has redesigned many mill feed chute liners and optimized design to avoid “ore hang-ups” and increase liner life.

Our designs are made such that it is easy to remove the high wear parts (usually the center liners) without removing the side liners. The large majority of our chute liners are manufactured in High Chrome White Iron with the following characterisitcs:

• 2.5-3.5%C
• 22-27% Cr
• 650-712HBN

This alloy is the hardest possible alloy and is also corrosion resistant due to the high chrome content.

Rubber chute liners are also used in some applications:

• Where the feed particles are small (the smaller the particles, the better the wear resistance of rubber compared to steel/iron).
• Where the process water is highly corrosive and corrodes the metal.
