Transfer Chutes

Transfer Chute

There are many transfer chutes where the liner designs are not optimized. The general rule is to use hardened, forged steel plates, with a typical hardness of 400-500 Brinell. Very high wear points might be lined with sections of plate with Chrome carbide overlay. However, these chrome carbide overlay’s are generely very thin and wear through fairly quickly.

MPL can assist in redesign your transfer chute so the liner replacement time can be increased from a few weeks to a few months.

Mill discharge trunnions are often lined with a mere rubber sheet, which needs frequent replacement and case cause the loss of the discharge end journal if the trunnion liner wears through, and pulp manages to get into the cavity below.

MPL designs trunnion liners for:

  • Maximum life and reduced risk of wearing through.
  • Easy of replacement with accessible bolting arrangement.
